What can be done?
We have reached a state in synthetic media in which we can alter images of ourselves, romantic partners, and politicians to create memes, share non-consensual sex images, and boost disinformation campaigns. We should take action against people who produce non-consensual deepfakes and protect everyone else by creating technologies that encrypt their images against this kind of use.
