Charlene is the founder of a Vibe Called Tech, a media agency that explores Black creativity, culture, and technology. As a researcher and curator, she has initiated and led projects around technology and race supported by institutions like The Barbican, Tate Modern, and SOAS.
What can be done?
We need more work to help us understand how racism shows up not just in the diversity of the workforce in technology companies, but in the design of the products they produce. In parallel, we should all be investigating ways in which the internet can support healthier ecosystems for the Black financial and creative economy.
