Christy is a feminist activist working with organizations and individuals to build campaigns against gender-based violence. She uses self-defense training as a medium for supporting women and girls in their journey of liberating their physical and digital bodies.


What can be done?

With the global pandemic being the perfect excuse to increase repression and surveillance, governments have taken to technology as a tool to infringe on citizens’ privacy, and they’re not the only ones doing so. We need to create awareness around how our bodies are being monitored and “informationalized,” not only by government officials and big data companies, but also by the people around us. The internet needs to be a place where our bodily autonomy can be honoured.
