What can be done?
Education is, at its heart, about human connections. Policies and initiatives where education and technology intersect should embrace a set of principles to maximize human engagement. EdTech policies and projects need to be developed with a clear purpose. These initiatives should be flexible and user-centered, with an emphasis on equity and inclusion. They should empower teachers with improved access to content, data, and networks. They should also engage the ecosystem, including public and private actors; and be data driven in their decision-making.
As COVID-19 spread globally, educators around the world made extraordinary efforts to provide students with access to remote learning during school lockdowns.
