What can be done?
The growth of a healthier internet requires the effort of all stakeholders. More effort needs to be done to include minorities and vulnerable groups in the ecosystem. That means we have to work harder on data literacy, which is fundamental to teach citizens how the internet works — its advantages and its dangers.
Other related stakeholders, like governments and providers, must join the discussion as well, and work together to get sustainable plans for internet-related challenges, not only for data literacy, but also for infrastructure, connectivity, and the inequalities that have been expanded by the pandemic.
