What can be done?
We need to build the alternatives, encourage good practices, and set clear goals for a healthier internet. As Richard Buckminster Fuller said: “You never change things by fighting the existing reality. To change something, build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
The BBC took a step closer to a human values economy and away from the attention economy by investigating what its audiences value, as opposed to what will hold their attention.
