Kate is the director of the Digital Defense Fund. Her background is in nonprofit fundraising and technology. She left startup life after co-organizing civic hackathons and other open source efforts to bring together activists, organizers, experts, and technologists.
What can be done?
We should commit to reporting harassing comments or posts, volunteer to moderate, proactively foster positive engagement, and counter misinformation where we see it. Amazing things happen when we use our power to be good stewards of the online spaces we’re in. It’s easier than ever to get people together to moderate, curate, and provide great experiences for each other. Every little bit helps!
