Raisa is a Panama based journalist and a researcher. She’s also an emeritus professor at Universidad de Los Andes and a co-founder of the local Internet Society chapter. She works at the International Center for Political and Social Studies and as an independent consultant.
What can be done?
We need to improve connection with meaning. Not only through the reduction of the access gap, which is urgent, but also providing literacy for the appropriate use of digital technologies in the social context of each and everyone.
The Panama chapter of the Internet Society created an educational program that launched a discussion around the history of the internet in Panama, its public policy, and its digital rights status.
